Quick Tip: How to Cook Asparagus for a Pasta Dish

Printer-Friendly Format

May 15, 2012

This time of the year, I often add asparagus to pasta dishes. Here's a quick way to cook the asparagus without having to dirty another pot!

Cook your pasta as your normally would. Then, when the pasta is almost al dente (almost cooked), add the asparagus to the cooking pot. Cook until the asparagus is tender and bright green.

Test the pasta. If it's done, great! Drain everything together. If the pasta isn't done. Don't worry! The asparagus floats on top of the water. Simply skim it out with a slotted spoon, set aside and allow the pasta to finish cooking.

As Ina would say,"How easy is that?"

Happy Spring Asparagus Eating! Love ya!
