6 Gluten-Free Recipes for Summer

July 26, 2013

Ok, I'm not sure how this happened BUT August arrives next week. WHAT?!?! Before the summer leaves, here are six recipes I need to make (or make again).

What's on your "must make" summer list?

Flour Tortillas

Fill 'em with something awesome, like roasted vegetables and grilled chicken with a chipotle mayo, eat outside, and call it an {amazing] day.

Salt Potatoes

Pick up some potatoes at the farmers' market and make this recipe. Trust me. They are one of those sides that elevates the rest of the meal. I serve them with anything from bbq chicken to smokey ribs.

RECIPE

Lemon Cucumber Water

Don't laugh but I love this drink. There's something wonderfully summery about sparkling water with a slice of cucumber and lemon. Some of my friends splash a little vodka into this. Not me. I like it plain.

RECIPE

Chiffon Cake

Need a "wow" dessert? Bake this cake. Right before serving, Stir together some fresh berries and a little sugar. After the juices run from the berries, slice the cake and spoon the berries over it. Done!

Waffle BLTs

You really can serve these at breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner. The key here: serve them!

RECIPE

Tomato Tart

In my area, tomatoes are just starting to come into season. As soon as my tomatoes are perfect, I'm making this tart. Under the layer of warm tomatoes hides cheese and caramelized onions.

And bonus non-recipe #7

Watermelon. Lots and lots of watermelon.
