Sometimes life calls for chocolate cake. This one-bowl recipes answers the call deliciously---and easily. You don't even need an electric mixer to make it!

In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients. Be sure to select a large bowl. This recipe needs it.

Whisk together. You don't even need an electric mixer for this recipe. A balloon whisk works just fine!

Add wet ingredients and whisk until smooth. This takes about a minute.

Divide batter between two greased 8-inch cake pans.

Bake until a cake tester comes out clean. Cool cakes on a wire rack. That's it!

Cool and ice as desired.
